Cynthia Rogers

Cynthia is a clinician, a teacher, a supervisor and a researcher. The following are some of the organisations where she plays an active role.

Group Analytic Practice
This practice was established in 1960 and continues to flourish. Cynthia joined the practice in 1994. Individuals, couples and families are seen at the practice for long and short term therapy. The work is fairly equally divided between group and individual therapy. The Practice also convenes workshops for professionals. We are currently planning a joint workshop with psychotherapists from Sicily. Cynthia moved on from the practice in the summer of 2004 to work independantly

Institute of Group Analysis
Cynthia is a key teacher on the Institute of Group Analysis training which is based over monthly weekends in Manchester and leads to Membership of the Institute.

Whurr Publishers Ltd
Whurr commissioned Cynthia to write the book 'Psychotherapy and Counselling a Professional Business'. It is essential reading for anyone in serious private practice as a therapist. The book was published in the Autumn of 2003.

Group Analysis North
This website is undergoing reconstruction.

Group Analysis North is a lively association of Group Analysts. It is based in Manchester but has Members throughout the country. Group Analysis North, in partnership with the Institute of Group Analysis, povides weekend training, leading to Membership of the Institute of Group Analysis and UKCP registration. Cynthia is a key teacher,supervisor and therapist on this course.

British Association for Counselling
The British Association for Counselling accredits counsellors nationally. Cynthia has been a member of BAC since the early 1980s and is accredited with them as a Senior Registered Practitioner. Only experienced, senior counsellors are eligible for this level of accreditation. Cynthia is one of the few counsellors who are accredited as a BACP Registered Supervisor.

American Group Psychotherapy Association
The American Group Psychotherapy association supports its members by providing conferences and publications. Cynthia is a member and attended the recent annual meeting in New Orleans.

Online Supervision Research
Cynthia is part of a team researching online supervision. Supervisors and supervisees interested in accessing high quality online supervision should contact the web site.
Cynthia is currently also engaged in research at Goldsmiths College, London University into the nature of the profession of psychotherapy.

P.R.S
Cynthia is a member of a psychotherapy network originally started by the Womens Therapy Centre. Individuals whom Cynthia is not able to see herself, after initial consultation, can be referred where appropriate to other members of the Network. The network meet regularly for support and continuing professional development.
